1000′ 14/2C Type MC Interlocked Armor Control Cable PVC Jacket 600V
14/2C TYPE MC INTERLOCKED ARMOR CONTROL CABLE PVC JACKET 600V
Applications:
The metal clad cable is an electrical wire designed for use in power lines not exceeding 600 Volts. The MC wire has an operational temperature rating from -25°C to 90°C in dry locations. The cable is armored with an aluminum interlocking strip, which offers great mechanical protection. This electrical cable is crush resistant and lightweight, therefore, not labor-intensive, which makes it a cost-effective option over other piped wire installations.
Also Known As:
14 2c mc cable, 14/2c metal clad cable, 14/2c aluminum armored cable, 14/2c mc cable, 14/2c mc wire, 14/2c mc cable wiring, 14/2c armored wire, 14/2c armoured electrical cable, 14/2c mc electrical wire, 14/2c fire alarm mc cable, 14/2c flexible armored cable, 14/2c armored cable wiring, 14/2c metal clad cable type mc, 14/2c armored fire alarm cable.
Standards:
- Rated at 90°C wet or dry locations
- Meets cold bend test at -25°C
- UL Type MC
- UL 44, UL 1569, UL 1581, UL 1685 (Flame Exposure Test)
- ICEA S-95-658 NEMA WC70
- ICEA T-29-520 210,000 BTU Flame Test
- IEEE 1202/CSA FT4 70,000 BTU Flame Test
- IEEE 383/UL1581 70,000 BTU Flame Test
Construction
Conductors:
This aluminum armored cable has a fully annealed stranded copper conductor (Class B). Copper is the most common material used in electrical wires and cables, which is mostly because it has amazing electrical properties and is cheaper compared to other metals. The stranding enhances its flexibility and enables it to carry more current.
Insulation:
Conductor insulation for this metal clad cable wiring is made of flame retardant cross-linked polyethylene (FR-XLPE) and is type XHHW-2, which provides a multi-purpose electrical wire a high heat and water resistance.
Jacket:
This metal clad cable jacket is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is lead-free. PVC is a strong material and can withstand any punishing environment it is subject to. It can withstand heat, moisture, impact, abrasion, corrosion, chemicals, oils, and weather. The PVC is color-coded to enable easy identification of the cable.
Armor:
The interlocking aluminum strip serves as armor applied over the cabled together conductors, with the polypropylene tape wrapped around the assembly. The armor makes the MC cable highly resistant from crush and rodent as well as ensures installation with no extra inner duct or conduit.
Specifications:
- Cond. Size AWG: 14
- No. of Cond.: 2
- Insul. Thickness (inches): 0.030
- Diameter Under Armor (inches): 0.288
- Jacket Thickness (inches): 0.050
