[short]

2/0-2/0-2/0 ALUMINUM SEU CABLE

Allowable Ampacity for 2/0-2/0-2/0 ALUMINUM SEU CABLE at 60°C: 115 Amps

Allowable Ampacity for 2/0-2/0-2/0 ALUMINUM SEU CABLE at 75°C: 135 Amps

Allowable Ampacity for 2/0-2/0-2/0 ALUMINUM SEU CABLE at 90°C: 150 Amps

Applications:

Aluminum SEU cable is primarily used as panel feeder in multiple unit dwellings and for branch circuits. Maximum operating temperature of this electrical cable is not to exceed 90°C in wet locations. Voltage rating for this electrical cable is 600 volts.

Also Known As:

2/0-2/0-2/0 aluminum seu cable, 2/0-2/0-2/0 seu service entrance cable, 2/0-2/0-2/0 seu cable, 2/0-2/0-2/0 seu wire, 2/0-2/0-2/0 600v wire, 2/0-2/0-2/0 600v cable.

Standards:

  • Ampacities based on National Electric Code, 2005 edition, section 310-15

  • 60°C when terminated to equipment for circuits rated 100 Amps or less or marked for 14 gauge through 1 gauge conductors

  • 70°C when terminated to equipment for circuits rated over 100 Amps or marked for conductors larger than 1 gauge

  • 90°C wet or dry locations

  • For dwelling units, conductors shall be permitted at listed ampacities to be utilized as 120/240 volt, 3-wire, single-phase service conductors that supply the total load

  • UL 44, 854

  • Federal Specification J-C – 30B

Construction

Conductors:

Aluminum SEU cable has compact strand soft drawn 8000 series aluminum conductor, per ASTM B-801. The conductor is the electrode in the cable and is responsible for transmitting electric current.

Insulation:

Aluminum SEU cable has a type XHHW-2 cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) insulation. The conductors are cabled together with a bare aluminum ground and covered with a reinforced binder tape. For color code, see table B in the technical section.

Jacket:

The cable jacket used in its design is Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The jacket protects the inner components of the cable from potentially damaging external forces. PVC is robust and resistant to oil, sunlight, water, flames, acids, chemicals, radiation, impact, abrasion, and weather changes. Sequential footage markings that help the user identify the appropriate length during installation are noted on the cable jacket.

Specifications:

  • Insulated Cond(s) Size AWG: 2/0

  • Bare Conductor Size AWG: 2/0

  • Nominal O.D. Inches: 0.719

  • Approx. Weight lb/1000FT: 728 lbs

  • Ampacity at 90°C: 150 Amps

  • Ampacity in dwelling: 150 Amps

Application:

USE-2 cables are primarily used for power distribution, in raceways in accordance with National Electrical Code, except that the cable is not rated for use in cable tray. USE-2 is approved for direct burial and for service entrance below ground. USE-2 cables may be used in wet or dry locations, with ambient temperatures not exceeding 90°C. Voltage rating for USE-2 cable is 600V.

Conductors: USE-2 conductor is a compact soft drawn bare 8000 series aluminum, with Class B stranding per ASTM

Insulation: USE-2 has abrasion, heat and moisture resistant cross-linked polyethylene insulation XLPE

Standards:

  • USE-2 meets or exceeds the following standards
  • UL 44
  • Requirements of the National Electrical Code
  • ASTM standards B 800, B 801
  • Sunlight resistant
