Allowable Ampacity for 250 MCM MV105 EPR Insulation PVC Jacket Shielded 100% Insulation Copper Power Cable 15KV at 105°C (In Duct): 345 Amps
Allowable Ampacity for 250 MCM MV105 EPR Insulation PVC Jacket Shielded 100% Insulation Copper Power Cable 15KV at 105°C (In Air): 495 Amps
Applications:
The mv105 copper cable is an electrical wire used for power circuits up to 15,000 Volts when fixed in open air, conduit, or duct; in applications such as chemical plants, refineries, steel mills, industrial plants, commercial buildings, utility substations, and generating stations. The National Electric Code accepts this electrical cable for uses within 105°C for continuous operation, 140°C for emergency overload conditions, and 250°C for short circuit conditions.
Also Known As:
250 mcm medium voltage power cables, 250 mv power cable, 250 erp power cable, 250 mv105 cable, 250 mv105, 250 mcm mv power cable, 250 mcm erp power cable, 250 mcm mv105 cable, 250 mcm mv105.
Standards:
- ICEA S-93-639
- NEMA WC74
- AEIC CS8
- Federal Specification J-C-30B
Construction
Conductors:
The MV power cable conductor is made of copper and has a conductor shield with soft bare annealed copper per ASTM B-3, Class B stranding per ASTM B-8 (compressed), or ASTM B-496 (compact).
Insulation:
A strong and enduring ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is used as the insulation system. The good thing about this insulation is how friendly it is to human hands since it is a rubber, a material that tends to be soft but guarantees profound and reliable safety wires. This insulation is also environmentally friendly, it doesn’t contain any toxins which can cause harm to human, animals, and plants health.
Shield:
Uncoated copper tape with a minimum 12.5% overlap per ICEA S-97-682.
Jacket:
Reinforced insulation is provided by a PVC jacket, which is sunlight-resistant, per ICEA S-97-682 and UL Standard 1072.
