Applications:

15kV cable is an electrical wire and a medium voltage cable, installed through direct burial or in conduit, for underground distribution. This aluminum direct burial cable with copper shielding performs for normal operations at 90°C, emergencies at 130°C, and short-circuiting conditions at 250°C. The 15kV cable does not require pulling lubricants. This electrical cable is used in both wet and dry locations for 15,000 volts power circuits.

Construction

Conductors:

15kV cable aluminum conductor is made of 1350 aluminum series, which is solid or compressed and soft drawn stranded in accordance with ASTM. The conductor has a filling compound and is water-blocked. 

Insulation:

The 15kV aluminum urd cable has TR-XLPE insulation, which offers high dielectric strength. EPR insulation is also available.

Metal shield:

The metal shield is concentric neutral and consists of solid bare copper wires that cover the insulation shield.

Jacket:

The 15kV cable jacket is black color coded for simpler identification and consists of linear lows density polyethylene (LLDPE). The jacket offers protection from heat, sunlight, and abrasion.

Application:

Aluminum Conductor 15KV URD cable is primary used for underground distribution, in direct burial or installed in conduit. 15KV URD cable is suitable for use in wet or dry locations. URD cable is to be used at 15,000 volts or less and not to exceed 90°C temperature in normal use.

Conductors:

Aluminum Conductor 15KV URD cable has a solid or compressed concentric strand soft drawn 1350 series aluminum conductor per ASTM. 

Conductor Shield:

Aluminum Conductor 15KV URD cable has an extruded thermoset semiconducting shield, which is free stripping from the conductor and bonded to the insulation.

Insulation:

Aluminum Conductor 15KV URD cable has naturally high dielectric strength TR-XLPE insulation. There is also extruded thermoset semiconducting insulation shield. Optional EPR insulation is available upon request.

Metallic Shield:

Aluminum Conductor 15KV URD cable has a concentric neutral shield consisting of solid bare copper wires helically applied and uniformly spaced over the insulation shield.
